On October 21, 2019, a press conference was held at the Startap Center for the Climathon hackathon.
Climathon is a 24-hour global event organized by Climate - KIC (the largest public-private partnership addressing climate change through innovation), supported by an official EU institution - the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). This is a world event organized this year in over 100 cities around the globe.
Climathon in Nis is being held on October 25th in the Deli space, organized by ENECA and Proaktiv, and the theme of this year's event is "Let the Nis breathe!"
The conference was also supported by professors from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Nis, with the hope that as many students as possible will apply to try to find solutions to the problems that the City of Nis faces in the field of climate change and environmental protection.
Environmental pollution as well as inadequate management of municipal waste have been identified as key factors that directly affect climate change, and in recent years, especially in winter, Nis has struggled to breathe full lungs. These problems can be solved using the principles of circular economy.
The conclusion is short: "Let the Nis breathe!"
